Quick Facts for Counselors
Each summer, we hire approximately 25 college undergraduates to mentor students in the PROMYS high school program. Counselors are drawn from the top mathematics majors across the U.S. and around the world from a wide range of colleges and universities. They spend an intensive six weeks living on the campus of Boston University, where we rely on them to create a supportive atmosphere in a vibrant and diverse mathematical community.
PROMYS 2024: June 30 - August 10, 2024. Counselors are expected to start work on June 28.
Counselor Application Deadline: March 15, 2024
Counselor Acceptance Decisions: Starting February 2024 on a rolling basis.
In 2024, counselors will receive free room and board plus a six-week stipend of $5,100.
Four components of the application must be submitted by the deadline:
- application form which includes short responses
- two letters of recommendation
- college transcript
- a curriculum vitae (CV)
PROMYS is particularly interested in increasing diversity in mathematics and in science and technology opportunities more broadly. PROMYS strongly encourages undergraduates to apply who are female, Black, Latino/a or from other groups underrepresented in STEM.
