Adrian Iovita is a Canadian Italian Mathematician of Romanian origin. He is Professor of Mathematics at Concordia University, Montreal where he has taught and conducted research since 2003. He has earned two PhD degrees in Number Theory and Arithmetic Geometry: one in 1991 at the Institute of Mathematics of the Romanian Academy, Romania, under the direction of Nicolae Popescu, and one in 1996 at Boston University under the direction of Glenn Stevens.

He had tenure track/tenure positions at the University of Washington, Seattle (1998-2003) and the University of Padua, Italy (2007-2024). His research is concentrated on understanding p-adic properties of global objects, such as abelian varieties or automorphic forms. In 2018, Adrian Iovita was invited speaker, together with Fabrizio Andreatta and Vincent Pilloni, at the International Congress of Mathematicians at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

While a PhD student at Boston University, Adrian Iovita worked as a counselor in PROMYS for Teachers. In 2025, he is launching PROMYS Italia at the University of Padua as the newest member of the international family of PROMYS programs.
