PROMYS Pathways Director
David Fifty is the Director of PROMYS Pathways at Boston University, where he develops and supports math enrichment programs for local students. He earned his PhD in Mathematics Education from the University of New Hampshire in 2020. His graduate research focused on improving outcomes in introductory undergraduate math courses by investigating student engagement in the classroom and supporting the development of higher-order mathematical skills. As an NSF Postdoctoral Fellow, he worked with three universities to design professional development programs on equity, inclusivity, and inquiry-based learning for mathematics graduate instructors and TAs. Joining the PROMYS team in 2024, he is passionate about expanding access to mathematics and fostering supportive learning communities.
