PROMYS Math Circle

Quick Facts about PMC

PROMYS Math Circle (PMC) provides weekly extracurricular math circles to approximately 100 students in a number of Massachusetts high schools with the goal of expanding access to rigorous problem-solving opportunities. A virtual math circle accommodates students without a circle in their school. Throughout the year, special events bring PMC students together to engage in fun and collaborative mathematics. In 2020, PMC launched a free summer program which has run virtually for the past two years.

Cost: Free for all participants.

[The full cost of PROMYS Math Circle has been covered for all students thanks to the generosity of the Linde Family Foundation and other donors. We are now actively seeking funding to continue PMC beyond 2020-21.]

Currently, PROMYS Math Circle is open to students who:

  • Attend high school in Massachusetts
  • Are mathematically ambitious and excited about spending time on collaborative problem solving
  • Might not otherwise have access to extracurricular mathematical opportunities
  • Come from low-income backgrounds and/or are Black, Latinx, female or from other groups underrepresented in STEM.
